IATSE Local 250, with the generous support of the Canada     Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund, is excited to offer:

Fundamentals of Arena style rigging

Date: February 28th – March 1st.

Time: Tuesday February 28th 0900-1730 / Wednesday March 1st 0900-1200

Location: South Okanagan Events Center, 853 Eckhardt Ave W, Penticton, BC

This course is intended to train workers in the fundamentals of arena-style rigging.  All workers will receive ground rigging (GR) training, and those who have elected for high rigger (HR) training will also receive practical training in walking the beam and pulling points.  Training will be conducted at a venue they work in.

To finish off the session, both groups will work together to rig and de-rig points, allowing instructors to check off their required skills.  Once workers have successfully demonstrated basic proficiency in these skills, they will be eligible for probationary status as Ground Rigger and/or High Rigger. This course is open to all performing arts workers and is being offered at no cost as part of the trainings the IATSE is providing through the CanadaPerforming Arts Workers Resilience Fund.
